about

“I wrote Bomb at a time when I was moving through a thick swamp of sadness and achiness that I was up to my mouth in. The lyric in the chorus is, ‘it hit me and it hit me, like a bomb going off in my chest and now I'm scared to breathe in case I bust whatever's left.’ Feeling good again seemed so impossibly far away; the big picture was just. Too. Big. I stopped worrying about how and when and decided that all I could do was inch towards whatever made me feel good. Every day, just little tiny things. I tried to choose what felt the best, sometimes it was phoning a friend, or not answering the phone, eating dinner in the bath with my little boy, or the way I spoke to myself, the music I played, the colour I painted the front door (lemon yellow it was), literally patting myself on the arm and allowing myself to crumble, bright red lipstick and flowers and whiskey in winter and the sun on my face. Guess what? After a long while, it all added up and I found myself strong, whole and fierce again. Bomb is my victory song” -Lucy Peach

Lucy Peach again charges forward with an unapologetic and upbeat new track Bomb, after her single released last year Be So Good garnered much critical acclaim and audience adoration.

The last few years have been flurries of successes for Peach, playing a slew of Western Australian music festivals, impressive triple j and community radio play across the country, an international tour with the incomparable Mama Kin, as well as supporting the likes of Tim Finn, Ngaiire, Abbe May and Tim Rogers

The second single from her forthcoming sophomore EP, Bomb was recorded by Joel Quartermain at Wasteland Studios, with Peach accompanied by Lee Jones (The Sun Orchestra, Ruby Boots, Eskimo Joe, Sleepy Jackson, Spencer Tracy).

lyrics

Did I undo your secrets, did I come in too close?
Did I break into pieces, what you loved the most?
Well all the kings and their men will fall, and from the chaos, my name you will call-

And it hit me and it hit me,
Like a bomb going off in my chest, and now I'm scared to breathe in case I bust whatever's left..

Well I'll be riding down the mountain, with wild flowers in my hair
Baby's beside me and new coins in my pocket and six white horses to take me anywhere-

And it hit me and it hit me,
Like a bomb going off in my chest, and now I'm scared to breathe in case I bust whatever's left, and it hit me and it hit me,
Like a bomb going off in my chest, and now I'm scared to breathe in case I bust whatever's left..

Well don't you try and stop me-but you can join me if you dare,
Well don't you try and stop me-but you can join me if you dare

Looking for a safe place to land, a safe place to land,
Looking for a safe place to land, a safe place to land,

And it hit me and it hit me,
Like a bomb going off in my chest, and now I'm scared to breathe in case I bust whatever's left, well I've found myself a zephyr and I will glide until I fall, I don't need gravity but the view is wonderful-

Looking for a safe place to land, a safe place to land,
Looking for a safe place to land, a safe place to land
